Well – it’s about that time.
Yesterday I had my first ever PreOp visit to a hospital so they could fill out paper work, go over insurance, and tell me what to expect during tomorrow’s surgery. My biggest surprise was how long it took. I nearly fell asleep at one point in the lobby waiting for lab work. One of our FBC members who “woke me up” would probably tell you I did fall asleep.
Surgery is tomorrow @ 7:30 am and I appreciate your prayers. I’m looking forward to getting this hernia repaired. It’s a real nuisance.
This experience has again reminded me that our bodies are so strong and yet so fragile at the same time. The Psalmist was right when he wrote, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps. 139:14). Paul was also right when he wrote that “outwardly we are wasting away” (II Corinthians 4:16). Strong and fragile!
Today I simply want to remind all of us that God is a great God who has blessed us so richly and on whom we are ultimately completely dependent.
