Read John 4:35 several times:

“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.”

Having read this verse, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:

  • According to this verse, how is the average person’s attitude toward the evangelistic harvest different than Jesus’ attitude?
  • How does a person’s attitude about the evangelistic harvest affect his emotions, choices, priorities, and outlook on life?
  • How does your attitude toward the evangelistic harvest affect you?
  • How is your attitude affecting our church?
  • What does Jesus tell us to do in this verse? Are you doing that?

After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge:

  • How do we direct more of our resources (people, time, money, events, ministries) to evangelistic efforts that target those in our community who are unchurched and could be assimilated into our family of faith?

Pray that your attitude toward lost people and evangelism becomes more like Jesus’ attitude.
