Sometimes trying something new is good.

A few years ago, Monieca and I were eating pizza with our niece and her husband at Ultimate California Pizza in Barefoot Landing at the beach.  I ordered my usual mostly meat pizza and Monieca her usual vegetarian type pizza.  Our niece ordered a “Thai Chicken” pizza.  I thought it sounded awful.

They convinced us to try a bite and it was love at first taste.  I was surprised, shocked, blown away – choose an adjective.  Since then “Thai Chicken” is my favorite pizza – sweet Thai chile sauce, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, green onions, roasted chicken, & chopped peanuts.

Each time we’re at the beach, we eat one.  Each time I’m at the beach without Monieca, I bring one home so we can enjoy it together.  We’re still shocked that we like it so much.

I guess it just goes to show that just because something is new and sounds strange doesn’t mean it’s not good.  I think there may be a lesson in that for us.

PS  We’re at the beach this week on vacation and ate one last night.  It’s still good….
