Read the following Bible verse several times:
Psalm 1:3
“He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”
Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
- This promise refers to the person described in verses one and two (see yesterday’s devotion) who listens to God’s law (Bible) instead of the counsel of the ungodly. What is he promised in today’s verse?
- If God’s word provides refreshing nourishment to a believer the way water does to a tree, how important is daily Bible reading? Are you getting enough spiritual water or are you experiencing a drought?
- How would you describe a thirsty man who chooses not drink a glass of cold water when it’s offered to him?
- Do you own a Bible? If you don’t regularly read it, how would you describe yourself?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.
