I drove to the beach Sunday afternoon and was surprised at the massive amount of broken tree limbs lying along the side of the road between Florence and Conway. The storm that dumped several inches of snow on Rock Hill a couple of weeks ago dumped a lot of ice on the lower and coastal parts of our state. The damage was extensive. Some homes will never look the same, not because the buildings themselves were damaged but because the trees around them are gone.

Storms can be powerful and the damage they do can be ugly. In a matter of minutes or hours, a storm can destroy what took years to grow.

The wrong kind of words can do the same thing to people and relationships. A storm of angry and hurtful words can be spoken quickly, but the damage can be lasting.

This Sunday’s message will deal with anger and angry words. Learning how to talk means learning how to deal with anger the right way.

I hope you will join us for worship as we continue the series “Let’s Talk.” Invite someone to come with you. Think of the words spoken inviting someone to church as being like a warm sunny day. So go ahead and brighten someone’s day and invite them to church. It sure beats a storm.
