Every Wednesday for almost 7 years, JoJo and Ginger arrive at the GKTW Village. They spend three hours there giving the children staying at the Village a chance to do something that most have never done – ride a horse.
JoJo and Ginger are horses specially trained for riders with disabilities. For children with life-threatening illnesses and for those who depend on wheelchairs for mobility, the thought of something as simple as a horseback ride seems impossible. But JoJo and Ginger and their owners help make the impossible happen.
Part of our team worked with JoJo and Ginger escorting riders, handing out cowboy hats and entertaining the waiting families. It is always a special moment when the first horseback ride brings a big smile to a child’s face.
