TODAY – we worked…and we’re tired!

Our team started at 9:30 am and visited just shy of 1,900 homes giving residents an invitation to Saturday’s “Summer Fun Day” event sponsored by the Oikos Church. We talked to a lot of people and did a lot of walking, much of it up and down streets on small hills. But it was worth it and we’re praying God does a great work this Saturday. Please join us in praying for miracles. Pray for people to be drawn to Jesus and to connect with Oikos Church. Pray that the weather forecast for Saturday is wrong – right now they are saying there’s a 90% chance of rain in Birmingham. We want a day like today – sunny and low 70s. My growing bald spot is RED! Pray that each of us sleep well tonight and have energy tomorrow.

This evening most of us took the train into downtown Birmingham, which is a beautiful city. It has a canal, much like San Antonio’s River Walk. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Nando’s, known for their flame-grilled peri-peri chicken. It was really good. I especially enjoyed the ratatouille. If you’re ever in Birmingham (England that is) you might want to check it out.

We’ll wrap up our visitation tomorrow by going to another 400 or so homes, then rest up for a long day on Saturday. As always, THANK YOU for praying for us.
