Today was our last day in Egichikeni, as we visited the villages / homes we have been visiting all week to say “goodbye” and pray a blessing on their family. Kathy and Sara spent time with the family of the man who committed his life to Christ at church Sunday morning. Brian and I visited the village where 14 people accepted Christ as Savior on Saturday. They allowed us to take a photograph with them today. Not everyone from the extended family we spoke with on Saturday was there today, but many of them were and it was a blessing to see them. Their photograph is below.
We also said “goodbye” to our translators and gave them small gifts as tokens of our appreciation. They have been a great blessing to us this past week and I encourage you to be praying for them as they return to their families and the churches they serve. Below is a picture of all us crammed into David Petro’s Land Rover at the end of the day.
One surprise for me – and it will be a shock to you – is that the elderly grandmother at one of the smaller villages I visited all week made a request of me after we said our “goodbyes” and I prayed a blessing on her family. She asked me to sing my favorite Christian song. Yea, I know… some of you are laughing so hard you’re on the floor. But I belted out the best rendition of the first verse of “Amazing Grace” ever heard in that village. Just in case you’re wondering, there will not be a repeat in Rock Hill.
Tomorrow we have a four hour drive to the airport and then two quick flights to Livingstone and Victoria Falls. Again, then you for praying for us and please continue doing so.
