God blessed this mission trip in amazing ways and I’ll share some highlights in Sunday’s sermon. But after a week of intense focus and ministry, we ended our trip with some needed R and R in Livingstone, Zambia.
While in Livingstone we toured Victoria Falls and enjoyed a beautiful sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. We did a walking Safari and got a great view of some Rhinos. Don’t worry, we had an armed escort for protection.
Thursday we entered the neighboring nation of Botswana for an all day driving Safari in the Chobe National Park, famous for its large number of elephants. We got very close to those large animals, as well as Giraffes, Impalas, Cap Buffaloes, Sable Antelopes, Kudus, Wart Hogs, Hippos, Zebra, and many other animals.
It has been a great trip, but we’re all looking forward to being home and seeing our family. We’re also excited about being at church Sunday. In addition to preaching a sermon titled “Lessons From Africa”, I’m looking forward to seeing our high school graduates as we honor them Sunday morning.
Our entire team thanks you for your prayers and support. We’ve been blessed with the way you’ve followed our journey on the various social media platforms and left comments for us. We love our First Baptist Church Family of Faith.
One final request: pray we have a safe and smooth flight home. We leave Zambia today at 1:30 PM (7:30 AM in SC). After stops in Johannesburg and London, we arrive in Charlotte Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM (if all goes as scheduled). Pray I’m awake and have energy Sunday morning. I plan to crash Sunday evening and Monday.
