After meeting with some of our senior adults for a time of praying Monday morning, I visited each of the classes in our Sunbeams Day School. I heard kids singing about turkeys, painting pictures of turkeys, and listening to teachers read books about turkeys. They’re definitely ready for Thanksgiving.
Sunbeams is a great ministry that has impacted a lot of families in our community over the years. They learn about more than “turkeys.” They learn about Jesus. A highlight of their Sunbeams experience is chapel. Read what George Smith says about chapel below:
“Each month the kids leave the classroom and head to the Apex for Chapel. The room fills with our four year old sunbeam classes and the excitement swells. It is always a joy to stand before this group who is ready to hear another story about what God has done. You can tell from their reactions that they are listening. The bridges we build from Bible to Barbie’s and bicycles aren’t limited to that room. I see them again in the community and hear their little voices say, ‘Hey Pastor George’ and they begin telling the story to their parents in line at Target. The same thing happens on Sunday mornings as they proudly recount to Miss Holly what they learned in Sunbeams while she helps them find their new Sunday school class. It’s amazing how the moments that seem small at the time actually have such a huge impact. So enjoy your small moments this week and pray for their impact!”
Take a minute and pray for our Sunbeams ministry. Pray for the children. Pray that each of our ministries to children impact these precious little ones for Jesus.
