I enjoyed worshiping our Lord @ FBC this morning. There was energy and attendance was up. Not only that, most of us got there on time. I guess getting an extra hour of sleep helps.
Three people joined the church. Monieca told me one of the ladies is already plugged into her Wednesday night women’s class. Connections really do make a difference. If you’re not plugged into a small group of some kind, join one this week. Don’t just sit in the worship center with the crowd. Get connected!
We started a new study called “It’s All God’s” and introduced it with a really good video / cartoon depicting creation. The world and everything in, including us, belongs to God because He created it / us. At the core of humanity’s struggles and bad decisions is an unwillingness to acknowledge God’s rightful place and accept our true place in the universe.
All the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child have been picked up and we’re expecting several hundred to be returned to the church filled with gifts for kids all over the world. It’s great to part of what God is doing to change lives.
We commissioned several members in each service who will be participating in the “My Hope” outreach effort by inviting people to a gathering in their homes either this week or in the near future for the purpose of showing the evangelistic video produced by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Join me in praying for these gatherings to produce a great harvest of changed lives.
I also shared with the congregation that I’ll have hernia surgery this coming Thursday morning. Your prayers are appreciated.
