Here are some of God’s blessings yesterday at FBC:
Six young couples participated in Parent-Child Dedication, one at 9:10 and five at 10:30 (photo below). In keeping with our tradition, each couple wrote their own dedication and it was obvious they had put some thought and prayer into it. It was great to see all the grandparents sitting down front wearing big smiles. They also enjoyed a reception in the choir room. Thanks to Holly Matthews for her leadership. We also had a lighted candle at 10:30 in memory of one of our little ones who recently went home to be with Jesus.
Monieca helped me with the sermon and I appreciate her agreeing to do this. We discussed some of the strategies we used while raising our kids – and still use – to keep our marriage on the front burner instead of unintentionally allowing it to slip to the back burner where it would be neglected. If you missed it, you can watch it on our web site or on CN2 next Sunday at either 9:00 am or 9:00 pm. Read Genesis 2:18-24 before you watch it.
Last night we had nearly 30 guests for Dinner with the Pastor and several of them will be joining FBC this coming Sunday. They had some great questions during the Q&A, which is my favorite portion of the evening. A majority of our new members now attend Dinner with the Pastor before they join our church. Pray for our next dinner, scheduled for February 15.
Finally, I spent several minutes catching up with Ron and Becca Palmer after the 10:30 service. They moved to Atlanta a few months ago when Ron got a great job opportunity. They really miss FBC and I really miss them. It was great seeing them. Ron was responsible for my first NASCAR ride along @ the Charlotte Motor Speedway – that was BLAST. If you’ve never done it, you’re missing out on an incredibly exciting three minutes.
What did you enjoy yesterday? How did God bless you? Tell us about below in the comment section. Thanks!
