Today was a very full day. It was also a good one. Fellowship, food, love, and prayer are words that describe today for me.
I lost count of how many people told me they were praying for Jacqueline and our family. Whether it was face to face, text messages, or emails – it was an example of the blessing we enjoy being part of God’s family. People who don’t know Jesus and are not plugged into a church family don’t know what they’re missing. I also received numerous invitations for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day since Monieca will be in Germany and I’ll be here. I appreciate each offer.
Monieca’s Sunday School class had their Christmas lunch at the City Club and I was able to join them. There was an abundance of good food and good fellowship. Then there was more food tonight as we held our annual church-wide Christmas social with homemade goodies of all kinds. All of them were eaten by a large crowd that listened to the children’s choirs and the JOY Choir sing Christmas music before the social.
This morning wasn’t too bad either. Attendance was good, three people joined the church, and we distributed our first ever annual report. The feedback on the report has been very positive.
During the worship services I mentioned that Jacqueline’s surgery is tomorrow. She is to be at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. – which is midnight tonight here in SC. So if you wake up during the night, please offer a prayer for her as she will likely be in surgery at the very moment. Also pray for her husband, kids, and Monieca as they wait.
Well…I’m tired, so I’m going to keep it short. Time to rest. Be sure to check out today’s photographs below.
