This morning we continued the “Marriage is a Team Sport” sermon series by focusing on fundamental skills couples need to develop in order to have a winning marriage. Those skills are talking to each other the right way, really listening to each other, dealing with conflict the right way, and forgiving each other. If you were not able to attend this morning, you can watch or listen to the sermon on the FBC web site. It will also be on CN2 next Sunday at both 9:00 am and 9:00 pm.
During lunch today Jamie Burdette, our mission’s pastor, and I met with the team I’ll be leading to Zambia later this month. We’ll be doing evangelism in a village where one our SBC missionaries in planting a new church. We reviewed travel plans and discussed the evangelism strategy we’ll be using. All of us going to Zambia covet your prayers for us and those with whom we’ll share the gospel.
Nearly 30 guests attended Dinner with the Pastor tonight and several of them will be joining FBC this coming Sunday. I had the joy of walking one man through the “Romans Road” and leading him in prayer to accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior after the dinner. Talk about a great way to end the day.
This morning we also shared a video that gave an overview of this weekend’s SERVOLUTION. Check it out on the church’s Facebook page. About 200 FBC servants volunteered on 15 projects so people could know there is a God who loves them and that FBC loves them as well.
Remember that next Sunday is Mother’s Day, always a very special day at FBC. Invite your friends and family to come to church with you next week. I’ll also wrap up the “Marriage is a Team Sport” series next week.
