We wrapped up our Impact Missions Conference Sunday morning by signing partnership agreements (photos below) to serve alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ in three locations where the vast majority of people do not know Jesus as personal Savior and Lord. We will be working with:
• David and Heather Petro in the region surrounding Lundazi, Zambia
• Kenny and Kristy Dubnick in Birmingham, England
• Elliott Sneed in Rochester, NY
We have been supporting Elliott for a few years and agreed to extend this partnership. He is a church planter in the third largest city in the state of NY and only 10% of the people in Rochester have a personal relationship with the Lord. The Discovery Church he pastors in now planting another church in the area and we are excited about this continuing partnership.
During the invitation in both services Sunday members made commitments to pray, give, and go and brought those commitment cards to the altar and presented them to the Lord and to the missionaries who were standing there holding baskets (photos below). We then dedicated those commitments to the Lord. It was inspiring to see so many people committing to engage in taking the gospel to the lost here at home and beyond.
We are continuing our “A Story to Tell” focus and several stories / testimonies were submitted via the church’s website over the weekend. One of the walls in the lobby is now covered in blue and several stories are now displayed on that wall. Many more stories will be displayed in the days to come, so submit your story if you haven’t done so already. The other pastors and I look forward to helping many more of you write your story so you can tell it quickly and effectively. We have a large number of stories in the process of being edited and rewritten.
On a personal note I have to say I have been very blessed reading these stories. It is amazing to learn what God has done in the lives in our members and I know you will be blessed and inspired as you read and hear these stories.
Yesterday was Rene’ Pitts final day as the part director of our Elementary Ministry. For the past few weeks she has been working with Scott Blassingame, who is assuming her duties, to make the transition as smooth as possible. They met with many of the children’s ministry volunteers yesterday to discuss the future. Rene’ did a great job this past year and the ministry is much stronger because of her efforts. She loves our children and it showed in her passion and dedication. When you see Rene’ take a minute to say “thank you” for her service. She definitely deserves it. Also pray for Scott as he leads this very important ministry. If God places it on your heart to serve our children, contact Scott at scottb@fbcrockhill.org.
We had a great “Dinner with the Pastor” a week ago and several families and individuals decided to join FBC. Two of those families were introduced to the congregation yesterday and several more will be over the next couple of weeks. The wife/mother of one of family is already singing in the choir. I love it!
Be sure to invite someone to come to worship and Sunday School with you next Sunday.
