John 14-15 includes several verses where Jesus discussed the Holy Spirit with His disciples shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. This week’s devotions will focus on what He said and what we can learn from it.
Read John 14:26
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
Having read this verse, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
- The disciples heard Jesus teach and He promised that the Holy Spirit would enable them remember what He had said to them. What does this teach us about the Holy Spirit?
- Jesus also indicated that the Holy Spirit would “teach” them. What does this mean to you?
- Can the Holy Spirit help us remember Gods’ word when we need it? Can He help you understand it?
- We can’t remember what we’ve never heard or read. Therefore if the Holy Spirit is going to help us understand God’s word and remember it when we need it, how important is reading God’s word? How much or how often do you read God’s word?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge:
- How do we better balance the attendance between our 9:15 am and 10:30 am Sunday School hours and worship services?
Pray that the Holy Spirit teaches you the Bible verses that will enable you to witness to lost people and explain to them how to become followers of Jesus Christ.
