John 14-15 includes several verses where Jesus discussed the Holy Spirit with His disciples shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. This week’s devotions will focus on what He said and what we can learn from it.
Read John 14:16-17
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
Having read these verses today, what is God saying to you? Is it the same thing He said to you yesterday or is He saying something different?

Answer these questions:
- The world is composed of non-Christian and anti-Christian people. How does Jesus indicate the people in this world respond to the Holy Spirit?
- The world does not recognize the Holy Spirit’s presence and work (“see” and “know”). Do we who are believers ever act like the world with our attitude toward the Holy Spirit? Do you?
- Have you ever ignored the Holy Spirit’s leading in your life? What happened? What did/can you learn from that experience?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.
