Amazing! Awesome! Blown Away! WOW!

Those are just a few of the words that can be used to describe last night’s Trunk or Treat @ FBC. Praise God for His incredible blessings. He kept the rain away, as we had prayed. He brought the largest crowd to FBC for any event in our history. We had great volunteers serving, including 84 “trunks” with members giving candy to over 2,000 children. Total crowd exceeded 5,000.

Big shout out to our parking volunteers. They parked close to 1,000 cars. Not only did we fill our parking lot, we also filled the lots across Hood Center Drive at the credit union and insurance company. 400 cars parked in the grass, including the lower level next to the creek. RH Police Officer Dantzler did a great job with traffic at the intersection.

I personally handed over 1,000 of our “How to Step Up To Eternal Life” cards to adults and teenagers as they came by the van to get candy from Monieca and me. In addition to Bible verses explaining how to have eternal life, the cards have our worship times and web address on them. Please pray that the Holy Spirit uses these cards to speak to people and raise a spiritual harvest.

We learned a lot this year that will help us do an even better job next year. I want to thank our new children’s ministry staff. They did a great job. That team has been meeting with Steve Polk for several weeks getting ready for last night and it paid off. Another “thanks” goes to each person who brought their “trunk” and purchased candy. It’s great to be part of a church family that is willing to invest so much time, effort, and money in reaching the community.

One young kid who goes to our church told me last night he had invited his entire class at school and he had already seen 10 of them at Trunk or Treat. Way to go young man! Way to go FBC!
