No Excuses in My Relationship with God

Read Exodus 3:1-6

And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.”
(Exodus 3:3)

Moses left the privileged life in Pharaoh’s court and spent 40 years in the desert tending sheep. By this time, Moses was married, had children, and was working faithfully with his father-in-law, Jethro. In his own way, Moses had found a life of comfort and security in the rugged desert life. He was doing what many of us are doing today – living in the rhythms of the day-to-day– getting up, going to work, taking care of family, going to bed, and then doing the same thing all over again the next day. Many times we find comfort in the routine and security in the ordinary.

But God wants to remove us from the routine and the ordinary so that we can experience the amazing and the extraordinary. In order for us to experience God’s incredible movement in our lives, we have to be on the lookout for the moments when He is ready to move in our world and shake up our lives. Moses found the burning bush as he was going about his life, doing what he had done many times before. He was only able to experience God when he turned aside from his routine to encounter God in the burning bush. Moses was getting ready to go on the adventure of his life. It all began because he was willing to step away from his comfort and listen to the voice of God.

 

No Excuses Challenge

The No Excuses Challenge for today is to look for a moment to turn aside from your routine and to pray for the courage to encounter God when He calls. Look for an opportunity today to see God at work and join Him. At the end of the day write down what you have experienced.
