Read the following Bible verse several times:

Romans 10:1
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them (the Jewish people) is for their salvation.”

Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
What is the connection between what we “desire” and what we “pray” about?

  • If we say we want something, but don’t pray about it…do we really want it?
  • How many lost people can you name?
  • How many lost people do you pray for regularly?
  • How do you feel about your answers to these questions?

After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge.

  • How do we facilitate the service of our members in a way that is efficient and focused on the priorities that will have the most impact for the cause of Christ?

Praying for our Capital Campaign:

  • Ask God to give us (including yourself) a genuine desire to see people saved.
  • Ask God’s forgiveness for not praying for lost people.
  • Ask God to forgive us as a church family for caring more about ourselves than we do for lost people.
  • Ask God to create in you a heart that wants to give and be generous.
  • Pray that everyone at First Baptist (including yourself) participates in this capital campaign by making a commitment to give something during this next year.
