Read the following Bible verse several times:
Psalm 126:6
“He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”
This verse uses a farming analogy to describe evangelism. Just like a farmer who plants seeds will see a harvest, the Christian who has a burden for the lost and plants the seed of God’s word in their lives will see a spiritual harvest of people being saved. This spiritual harvest will produce joy.
Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
- What is the connection between “weeping” and going in evangelism?
- What does “weeping” say about the heart of a Christian witness?
- What is the connection between “joy” and evangelism?
- Is there a harvest without planting seeds? Is there evangelism without sharing God’s word?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge.
- How do we better balance the attendance between our 9:15 am and 10:30 am Sunday School hours and worship services?
Praying for our Capital Campaign:
- Ask God to bring great joy to our church by making us an evangelistic church.
- Ask to give you a burden so great for lost people that it causes you to weep.
- Ask God to forgive you for not witnessing and for the times you have not helped our church put evangelism at the top of our priorities.
- Ask God to show you the importance of giving.
- Pray that those in our church who have been blessed to give more today than they have given in the past will hear God’s voice speaking to them and that they obey what He says.
