I was doing what I like to do most Saturday mornings at home…sitting at the kitchen counter drinking coffee while reading…when the telephone rang. It wasn’t bad news. In fact the call was a blessing. It was a lady who leads the prayer ministry in one of our Sunday School classes and she wanted to know how her class could pray for me.
I mentioned three requests (I’ll share them with you at the end of this blog) and then we talked for a few more minutes. Afterward I thought, “That was nice.”
We all need people to pray for us and to know they are doing it is encouraging. I sometimes wonder how people who are not part of a healthy church family make in this world.
When you need someone to pray for you, who do you ask? When you need someone to listen when you’re trying to sort things out, to whom do you turn? When you’re hurting, who is there for you? When you’re discouraged, who encourages you?
If you’re part of a great Sunday School class, you don’t have to worry about finding someone to do all those things. They’re already there.
So if you’re not involved in a class, you’re missing some real blessings. God makes us a family because having others in our life makes life better. Join your brothers and sisters in Christ on Sunday and go to Sunday School.
Now back to those prayer requests…I appreciate you praying for these requests as well.
- Pray for my brother’s salvation
- Pray for my health and needed weight loss
- Pray that I have wisdom and stamina as I lead us through our “UNHINDERED” process so we can seek God’s answers to the challenges we face as a church family
