April 18, 2014 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

I met a young single mom yesterday while running some errands. She was outgoing, with a ton of personality. She was also excited about her boyfriend and the way he treated her young daughter. She had gotten pregnant during her last year of high school and although she didn’t say so, I imagine there were some difficult times for her along the way. But yesterday…she seemed happy and excited. Two thoughts kept running through my mind as we talked.

One thought was how much she reminded me of our daughter, Jacqueline. So I asked her several questions and spent a few minutes getting to know her a little bit.

The other thought was to invite her to Easter services. So I did! I had some of the invite cards in my pocket and gave her one, explaining what time the services started. She asked me about childcare and told me she had been thinking about getting back in church. I hope she comes.

One thing I failed to do was tell her about Saturday’s Community Egg Hunt. I’m going to try to find her today and invite her to bring her daughter to the egg hunt. I hope I’m not too late.

What about you? Who have you invited to the egg hunt and to Easter services? Who can you invite? Will you do it? I hope so!
