June 18, 2014 By Christina Loser Leave a Comment

There are two sessions today where the campers will learn about two more biblical characters who moved: Session 2 This is about John the Baptist, maybe the biggest misfit of all time – after all, he ate locusts. God spoke through John the Baptist to point the way to Jesus. A lot of people in… Read More »

Sunbeams Christmas Program

December 18, 2013 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

This morning I watched a few minutes of the kids in our Sunbeams ministry rehearsing for their Christmas program, which they’ll present to family and friends tomorrow morning. There are 165 kids participating. That’s a lot of children representing a lot of homes. Sunbeams is a great ministry that touches a lot of families. Holly… Read More »

The Christmas season is in full swing @ FBC as the worship choir and orchestra, with help from our children’s choir (photo below), presented “The Gift of Christmas” to a packed house @ 4PM and then again @ 7PM tonight. They did a great job and I was able to speak with several guests. I… Read More »

Sunbeams and Turkeys

November 26, 2013 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

After meeting with some of our senior adults for a time of praying Monday morning, I visited each of the classes in our Sunbeams Day School. I heard kids singing about turkeys, painting pictures of turkeys, and listening to teachers read books about turkeys. They’re definitely ready for Thanksgiving. Sunbeams is a great ministry that… Read More »

November 18, 2013 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

It was good to be back in the pulpit @ FBC today after missing last week due to surgery. But I watched the TV broadcast tonight of last week’s sermon and David Mitchell did a great job in my absence. We are blessed to have such a talented staff. Now to some of today’s highlights…… Read More »

Kids and Jesus

June 18, 2012 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

This past week at First Baptist has been about kids. Let me explain: First, thirteen young couples participated in parent-child dedication during yesterday’s two worship services. Each of them expressed in their own words the commitment to be Christian parents. They talked about praying for and with their children, about setting a godly example, about… Read More »

Pass It On

Read the following Bible verse several times: 2 Timothy 1:5 “For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.” Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you? _________________________________________________________________________… Read More »
